After "many days," Paul continued to Jerusalem. The photo is
of the southern stairway up to the Temple complex as it existed
in the days of Jesus and Paul. Both would have walked these
steps as it was the main approach to the Temple. When Paul
purified himself in the Temple, he was arrested and imprisoned
(Acts 21:26—23:11). Hearing of a plot on his life, the Roman
officials transferred Paul to Caesarea (Acts 23:12-35), where he
remained imprisoned for two year (Acts 24—26).
